Everjang and other items on sale at 40 Costco stores
[Edaily Reporter Kim Eung-tae] Food company Umtree announced on the 26th that it has supplied 'Everjang' (meat and onion salad sauce) and 'traditional gochujang' to Costco in the United States.
Umtrie recently began selling Everjang and traditional gochujang at 40 Costco stores in California and Hawaii. It plans to expand supply to Costco stores across the United States in the near future.
Everjang is an all-purpose sauce developed by Umturi with the meaning of "Everywhere, Everytime." By bringing out the deep flavor and umami unique to onions, it can be used to enhance the quality of various dishes, including not only meat dishes but also salad dressings, grilled dishes, and stir-fried dishes.
Unlike other products that undergo intensive fermentation and aging for a short period at high temperatures, traditional gochujang is a product that utilizes a low-temperature fermentation method of slow aging over a long period at low temperatures.
Umturi explained that this entry into Costco is significant in that it met strict quality standards. "Costco adheres to a policy of only allowing the top brand in each product category to be stocked," said Kim Sang-hee, CEO of Umturi. "This is an achievement resulting from a combination of quality-first management that makes no compromises on quality and a challenging spirit to find another growth engine in overseas markets.".
With this entry, the company plans to strengthen its penetration of the North American market and pursue entry into Costco stores worldwide. CEO Kim stated, “As the popularity of K-food has recently risen in overseas markets, global demand is also increasing,” adding, “We will expand the number of export countries from the current 45 to over 80 within three years.”.
