Umtree (CEO Kim Sang-hee), a manufacturer of sauces and condiments, is accelerating its global business expansion by achieving tangible results in the Southeast Asian market.
Umturi announced on the 19th that it participated in the 'K-Food B2B Consultation' held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 18th and 19th, held consultations with buyers from over 20 ASEAN countries, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for exports with companies from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore on-site.
This agreement includes about 10 items, including gochujang produced using a low-temperature natural aging method, fresh wasabi, mustard, bulgogi and chicken barbecue sauces, spicy stew sauces, breadcrumbs, and frying flour.
In particular, it is assessed that buyers' reactions were positive as local demand for K-food-based sauces expanded.
With this agreement, Umturi plans to expand its distribution network in the Southeast Asian market and subsequently target major Asian markets such as Japan, China, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Kim Sang-hee, CEO of Umtree, stated, “Thanks to the full support of the Korea Agro-Fisheries Food Trade Corporation (aT), we were able to meet many genuine buyers,” adding, “Based on this achievement, we will expand our market share in Asia and further strengthen our overseas business.”.
